Illinois Career Clusters Updates

In 2008, the Career Clusters Initiative made changes to two cluster names as well as to pathways found within the 16 career cluster framework. Those changes are reflected throughout the website as well as within the statewide offering chart for Illinois community colleges.

The two cluster name changes included:

  1. The Business, Management and Administration cluster was changed to Business Management Administration
  2. The Marketing, Sales and Service Cluster was changed to Marketing

The Career Pathways within (4) Career Clusters were also altered that included changing the name of a specific pathway, removal of some pathway(s) within a cluster, and adding some pathways within the cluster that previously were not present.
